Each morning I write a Morning Note for the first firm I worked for out of college, Capital Institutional Services ( Then CIS now CAPIS). Writing each morning allows me to decipher what is really important and what is just a “nonstory” story created by the media.
Covid-19 was never “the story” when it first materialized so rather a “nonstory story”. Now the Delta Variant of Covid-19 is being portrayed as a “nonstory” story. Sorry, but if you remember back to January then February of 2020 this is exactly how Covid-19 started with the media The “nonstory” story.
Delta Variant carries a much higher Rnaught of 9 that Covid-19’s of 1.5 to 6. This means how many infected arise from contact with a single infected person. This stat means that currently the infected person is infecting nine people. Already, the rate of acceleration is up to 46,318 and at last September the U.S. was at 36,000 each reporting day compared to a week ago.
We might hit 80,000 infections a week by the end of July and then 100,000 by the end of August, remember you heard it here first. Remember 50% of the population is not vaccinated. Vaccinations can climb easily bringing economic activity to a halt.
I took an interest this week in Delta because I have been vaccinated by the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, back in April, and yet I have all the symptoms of the Delta Variant so I have new found respect for this variant. The variant may be able to slip through the defense of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine though the company denies this fact. Results soon and we will report back the outcome.
